A Few of My Favorite People in Portrait

We all have our own list of people we admire, sometimes even associating the things that we like and do to them. Here’s a rundown of my favorite people in watercolor portraits that I’ve made……… with their notable quotes.

John Lennon

The Beatles is a legendary music icon and John Lennon is and forever will be my favorite member. Needless to say, “Across the Universe” unfurls to me a dainty comforting warmth a thing called music could give. It is beyond words, actually.

“My role in society, or any artist’s or poet’s role, is to try and express what we all feel. Not to tell people how to feel. Not as a preacher, not as a leader, but as a reflection of us all.”

Adele

For the woeful nights, for the agonizing emotional punches, I say thank you Adele for making it more difficult  to get it through while listening to your songs. Then there’s me feeling better afterwards. I’ve adored you not only for your heart-gripping songs , that magnetic voice is also to die for. Your delicate features also makes you more remarkable.

“I like having my hair and face done, but I’m not going to lose weight because someone tells me to.  I make music to be a musician not to be on the cover of Playboy.”

Birdy

Who would have thought a 16-year-old could create such dreamy and thought-provoking music? No wonder for that because Birdy started writing her own songs at age 6. She isn’t totally drowned on the mainstream right now but I like it that way. She is indeed a gem you should be digging. Her song “I’ll Never Forget You” is my favorite pick to drift  me to world named sleep.

“You make things so easy, I’ll never forget you.”

Carey Mulligan

Oh dear Carey Mulligan, the movie muse who portrays each of her role with emotional depth and profound minimalism I am always carried away. The contours of her face were harder than I thought. I can’t wait for The Great Gatsby to be released this December . Not to mention,  her playing the role of Daisy makes it more interesting.
p.s My pixie cut is inspired from her.

“I don’t want to be known—I’m afraid of being a personality”

Alexa Chung

I like that she kicks her own hipster, androgynous and chic mix without coming a mishap. She still comes faultless with the entire sum up of her inimitable style.

“I tried to be sexy but men don’t get it.”

Jim Sturgess

Some act unknown made me enormously like the lead actor after watching the movie One Day. He got his hands on singing first before engaging to acting. Coincidentally, he also got to sing my favorite song, really good.

“Actually, I feel like that every time I come out of the cinema. If that film’s about being a hippy, then I’m like, “that’s it, I’m gonna grow my own vegetables.”

Notice how each one of them has a similarity with one another. Aside from your beautiful self and darling loved ones, who are your favorite people?

I’m no artist, but I’m amazed by your work. Well then, well done… for what it’s worth, from a guy who doesn’t know anything. 🙂

Even if you admit you don’t know anything I still take that as a compliment from a guy who’s equally talented and has a good taste in art! . 🙂 Thanks for dropping by.

I just stumbled across your blog and I love your water color portraits!

And I also asked the hair dresser to give me ‘the Carey Mulligan” when I got my pixie cut. I love her style and can’t wait to see what she brings to the role of Daisy.

Thank you, so nice of you to say. I also did the same for my pixie look. 🙂 I’m sure you’re loving every moment of it. We’re both looking forward to her portrayal this December.
      Thanks for stopping by here!:)
